Three die in dry ice accident at Instagram influencer’s pool party DAMN

Three people died and several were injured after dry ice was poured into a pool during a party in Moscow.
The incident occurred Friday night during Instagram influencer Yekaterina Didenko’s 29th birthday party at the Devyaty Val (Ninth Wave) pool complex in southern Moscow.

After party-goers complained that the pool was too warm, about 25 pounds of dry ice was poured into the water.
The dry ice, a solid form of carbon dioxide, reportedly caused some swimmers to choke and lose consciousness.
Yekaterina Didenko’s husband, 32-year-old Valentin Didenko, was among the deceased after he jumped into the water to cool down after leaving a sauna. The preliminary investigation said the cause of death for all three was suffocation.
In a deleted Instagram video, Didenko says she was rushed to intensive care but did not specify what symptoms she exhibited or if she lost consciousness.
Dry ice is a form of carbon dioxide and can cause people to inhale a large amount of the gas if it is released in a poorly ventilated area.
Didenko is known for posting tips on how to save money on pharmaceuticals. She has over 1.6 million Instagram followers.
